In preparation for your final presentations over the ICN, post your name, the title of your project, and relevant links on this page.
This will allow your colleagues to enjoy your work while you are explaining it and then refer to it later for admiration.
After each posting, include a paragraph that explains what you did and any other information that you will want to share.
You will have 5 minutes to present when we meet.
In your 5 minute presentation, please:
take us on a tour of your project. (it may be on the web but maybe not)
Tell us about your greatest challenges.
Tell us about your greatest accomplishments.
Give us words of wisdom that you learned from the experience.
Example: Dr. Z - Great Blogs I Have Known
This is the paragraph where I would explain to you what I am sharing with you, but you already know that this link is just shameless promotion for my blog - I need the traffic.

Deb Robinson -Tucker Career and College Center This Google Site developed out of a need for a collaborative website by the Tucker Career and College Center. The Tucker Career and College Center is the career and technical educational facility for Council Bluffs Community Schools. The building principal is responsible for both the career and technical teachers/programs for the schools district, plus the staff and students at the Tucker Center. The two district high schools have a current website; however the Tucker Center has never invested in maintaining a website for its building and programs.
The building principal would like to have a website which would enable all of the teachers to be able to maintain their own classroom website and a tool which could be used to communicate with the career and technical teachers. In addition to the classroom teachers having access to create and maintain their own classroom website, all staff members of this building will be trained how to use Google Sites so not just one person is responsible to maintain it.
At the end of last year, the school board of Walnut Ridge Baptist Academy decided to change the name of the school to Waterloo Christian School in order to reflect more of what they really are. I was asked to create a new website for the school with a fresh look and with information that is current and usable because the old site was time consuming to update. My project was to create the site and develop ways to streamline the updates to things like school calendars, lunch menus and athletic events. The project was created in Dreamweaver with the use of Photoshop, Flash and Acrobat for added functionality and appearance. Several Google Apps are used for updating information.
Melissa Yocum-Principles of Design I developed an interactive website to teach my art students the principles of design. I've struggled to go in-depth with the principles and they are really important to consider when creating artwork. To help make this website interactive, I created Podcasts episodes for the chapters of the textbook that relate to the principles. I also found slide-shows, videos, quiz websites, and other valuable websites that the students can use to gain better knowledge of the principles of design. I won't be using the website till 4th quarter. Prior to 4th quarter I plan on putting some attachments on the pages that tell students what they should know about the principles of design and do with the website in order to gain knowledge about the principles. I will be making changes based on the feedback and response from the students who use it.
Jill Stannard-Clayton Ridge Elementary-Mrs. Stannard's Second Grade Web Page The purpose of my website is to provide information to parents, students and community. Parents and communitymembers will find information on curriculum, procedures, school policy, and stay informed on topics that affect their child through our classroom newsletters. I created several pages that provide different types of information. I even uploaded my lesson plans to be viewed weekly by parents. I am very excited about my Pisca Web Slide Show, where I can upload pictures easily. My second favorite is my blog. I had a hard time figuring this out. I think I made it a lot harder than it needed to be, but I love being able to put information and updates on there and then have parents comment. I just posted a poll from polldaddy.com for students to fill out during laptop time next week.
I sought constructive criticism from parents and staff. I sent out an evaluation of my web page to be filled out and returned. I got a pretty good response. Fresh eyes found some simple things that needed to be changed and gave my some new ideas for buttons, etc. I can't wait to share my creation with all of you! One question: How can I insert a PDF file of my lesson plans on my web page? I tried inserting them as a document, but it says it can't??
This project is a series of instructional videos that guide the student through the use of a 3D solid modeling program intended to aide engineers in the design process. The videos begin at an introductory level and are intended for a student in the middle school level. The videos will be presented to students in two forms. The main form will be presented as a PowerPoint file. The Power Point will allow student to receive additional instructions and preparation specific to each video. The second form of delivery will be through links in a presentation on a website which also contain additional information about the purpose of the videos and their use for instruction.
This project was meant to be a way for students to interact with former graduates of Central High School in DeWitt, IA. It has been scaled back slightly from this to be a website for the Career and Technical Department at the high school. However, it still includes many of my initial plans: a blog so students can interact with graduates, a way for students to plan their future education, and way for students to investigate careers in Career and Technology. The website is an initial attempt by me to become involved in the further education of students. It is also intended to not become static or stagnant. I want this project to continue to grow and I would like it to eventually become a Ning so that educators in Iowa and eventually the entire country to become involved.
